I am the proud co-leader of a Romanian Gyspy guild by the name of Tsurara. We are based largely out of the Inland Empire (that's in California for anyone who doesn't know). We participate in the various Faires done by Gold Coast Festivals ( *shamelessly advertises* ). We're a really groovy bunch of people. Check us out at our website. Oh, I suppose I should actually say something about myself... I like the color green, I don't like beets.

Music Poxy Boggards, Merry Mives of Windsor, Depeche Mode, System of a Down, Panic! at the Disco, the Gorillaz, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, James Gang, Led Zepplin, Queen, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Cross Effects, Disturbed, Korn, Nine Inch Nails, Gershwin, the Finnians, Weird Al, I killed a Bear, and the list goes on and on.
Movies Oceans Eleven, Captain Blood, Star Wars IV,V,VI, V for Vendetta, Beauty and the Beast, Feds, Hot Shots, Oscar, Eight Legged Freaks, Shaun of the Dead, Lilo and Stitch, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Pirates of the Carribean, To Wong Fu, and the list goes on and on.
TV Firefly, Lost, Nero Wolfe, Gargoyles, Re-Boot, Grey's Anatomy, the original Power Rangers (*shakes head* Puddies could have taken over the world if they had only gone in one at a time...), Dancing with the Stars, Pinky and the Brain, Jimmy Kimmel live, Jeopardy!, News, and the list goes on and on.
Books @_@ WWWWAAAAAAYYYYY too many to even begin to list them all. But hear are few of my favourite authors: Terry Pratchett, J.K. Rowling, J.V. Hart, J.R.R. Tolkien (I'm noticing a theme...), C.S. Lewis, Guy Gavriel Kay, Katherine Kurtz, Mary-Janice Davidson, Patricia C. Wrede, Christopher Paolini, Lemony Snicket, Stephenie Meyer, Charles de Lint. And the list just keeps growing.
Likes Ren Faires, friends, family, good food, food that no one seems to like but me, Ren Faires, frogs and toads (no they do NOT give you warts), reading, music, Faire, and many other things.
Dislikes Beets, stepping in gum (happens disgustingly regularly), asparagus, waiting in long lines, people who think they know everything but really know nothing, setting up camp in the rain >_<

    Post Faire Report

Tuesday, November 13, 2007, 05:39 PM PST [General]

First of all, I must give a giagantic thank you to all of the guilds who offered support to Tsurara in our (*cough*my*cough*) time of vague panic (otherwise known as 'we have almost nothing! whoo!'). It was really comforting knowing that so many people were willing to support us, especially since it was my first faire as Acting Guild Leader and I was freaking out a little bit. So, to St. Elizabeth's, Midsummer Fairy Fellowship, Blackspot Pyracy, Stranglehold, Travellers of Kilkenny, and to anyone I may have missed, thank you for your support.

I must also thank my guild for being so fantastically awesome. I swear if I didn't know how much stuff we normally have I wouldn't have been able to tell anything was different and that's because of how pwnfully awesome you all are. 50,000 Bonus points to all of you.

Okay, so now that all of the thanking is done we can get to the details.

The Not So Cool Stuff: Once again Jason had to get up on his Soapbox at morning notes and tell everyone that they have to shut their guild up at 10:00, he shouldn't have to do that every single morning. It should be pretty clear by now that he means business, but to one gruild it apparently wasn't and that resulted in them being permanantly banned from any faire put on by Gold Coast Festivals. As of this point I do not personally know who has been banned but, it makes me sad knowing that because of what I assume was a few people an entire guild has been banned.

The Cool Stuff: Set up and tear down went really well (yay us).

Doing our Super Stealthy Gypsy-Ninja Sign Sneak at the start of procession on Saturday got some good laughs from the Patrons, so big win there.

Leading the procession also went really well thanks to the lovely Alyssa who kept us going at exactly the right pace (yay Alyssa, 500 bonus points).

Kizzy made her awesome Chicken Adobo (not sure if I spelled that right =/) and it was good (so good that it was worth making a note of. 500 bonus points to Kizzy).

I don't know about anyone else but I found entertaining the Queen (may she live forever) and her guards with our bouncy gypsy wiles and mad dancing skills (500 bonus points to Sara for making the Captain look down a couple of times, and 500 bonus points to Katie for winning the dancing competition) highly amusing. Particularly when she made Brian (a.k.a. Shiney-Poofy-Pants) sit on the post xD.

I beat Jake at Testy Toss! (Yep, I had to make a note of it ^_^)

Well, that about wraps up my Post Faire Report.
    Love to you all,
    ~Tink

My Top Ten things to look forward to this Summer:

    1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (It was awesome, I cried like a baby once, but that's only because _____________. (You didn't honestly think I was going to tell you anything, did you? ^.~) )
    2. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Yay! I've been a Fantastic Four fan my entire life. It was so cool! They did a really good job with the Surfer ^_^)
    3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (It totally butchered the book, but still managed to be good, go figure.)
    4. Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End (Sqee! That movie was so freaking awesome!!! If you haven't seen it already you should.)
    5. My Grandpa's Pool party (He has one every year.)
    6. The Transformers movie (That movie was fantastic! I particularly love the bit when- well I can't tell you it'll ruin the movie ^.~)
    7. Halo 3 (I know it technically comes out in fall, but it may as well be summer here in Cali.)
    8. Ocean's 13 (I feel like a really bad fan for not including this in my original list. I was just so disappointed by Ocean's 12 I didn't have much in the way of hope for Ocean's 13. I was proved dead wrong. In my opinion Ocean's 13 is (almost) as good as Ocean's 11 and that says alot.)
Okay, so maybe it's only a top eight list, but ten sounds better.
    That is all.
    ~Tink.
